Prior to joining Intrepid Integrity, I felt surrounded so overwhelmingly by the dominant neuromajority culture that my twice exceptional status rendered me defective due to a chronic inability to function “normally”. When I am sequestered in nature, my gifts far outweigh my limitations and I feel capable, balanced, and whole. Thus far, I have not been able to consistently access that feeling while immersed in human society.
Intrepid Integrity offered me an opportunity to explore potential ways of bridging that gap: by connecting with a small subgroup of others who I perceived felt in some way also felt limited themselves by living amid the dominant neuromajority culture. It was a rare and sacred experience for me to connect with Silver and others whose extreme giftedness had complicated synergy with issues like autism and/or complex trauma.
The emphasis on allowing and even inviting imperfect creative expression was liberating to me, and empowered me to break through some self-harming blockages I have around perfectionism. Others in the group seemed as frightened as I at times about airing their truth, but the atmosphere Silver facilitated was incredibly nurturing and encouraging. The feedback we gave each other felt both affirming and healing.
As with most endeavors in life, the more time, heart, and energy you invest in the Intrepid Integrity program and connections therein, the greater are the rewards you may receive in terms of insights, liberation, and sense of collaborative community. I am a major introvert in most social settings, but I found myself coming out of my shell and eagerly awaiting each of the video calls which are included with the program.
I cannot recommend Intrepid Integrity highly enough. Silver is a profoundly gifted facilitator, and the model she created can be life-changing. Since participating in the pioneering session, I am feeling more at peace and more hopeful moving forward than I ever could have imagined.
